My husband has been a Trekkie for a long time. He grew up with it and worked on getting me into it for a while. It took some time because I was not a willing participant originally.

It wasn’t until I added “Watch all of Star Trek” to my Bucket List — because I wanted to spend more time with my husband doing something that he loved– that we started watching it. I decided that I wanted to watch every episode with him, purchase including the Animated Series. It became a family thing and even our son watched the show with us on a regular basis.

Since then I have fallen in love with the show. I have fallen in love with the characters. I have also actively participated in looking for Star Trek ships and items to add to our collection.

These little ships are ones that my husband had before we got married.

Here you can see the NCC 1701 (Original Enterprise), Enterprise A, USS Excelsior (NCC 2000), Enterprise B, Enterprise C, and Enterprise D. You can also see some Klingon ships and a Borg cube.

I took this picture so you could see the battle damage to the Klingon Bird of Prey. My husband really enjoyed these, and as he got older, started taking pictures of them “in action”. The ship you can barely see in front of it is the USS Reliant. All of these miniatures he had before he met me.

In this picture you can see our “little” Enterprise E and our JJprise on the top shelf, in the righthand corner. On the bottom shelf is the large version of the Enterprise E we purchased and some of our figurines.

The figurines that we have that are from Star Trek: First Contact, were purchased from an antique store for $30. They guy originally wanted $100 a piece!

Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge, sans visor, and Lt. Commander Data.
I was actually very excited to get Data because he’s my favorite Character in TNG. I have a thing for smart men. *wink*

This is the Beverly Crusher and Chief O’Brien we got with the characters from The Original Series.

This NCC 1701 was the first of the Starships and figurines we purchased as a couple.

Our Crew from the Original Series. Sadly, we are missing Scotty. We bought these off Ebay. There was a little bit of a “stand” discrepency, but we’ve learned that you just have to grab the figurines when and where you can.

The next thing we plan to do is build models of the Enterprise NCC 1701 ,1701-A, and 1701-B together. I’m hoping to take the time to paint them.

How’s that for couple time?
